I've had an iPhone 2.5G for over a year and have been pleased with the reception. Reports says that 3% of all calls get dropped on the new iPhone 3G due to the 3G chip and some configuration issues with it. A new software update is being set for september to fix the issues. How's your reception?

I live and work in AT&T's "Best Coverage" zone for both 3G and call quality, however, I often get a "No Service" indicator instead of bars on my signal strength meter. The default is typically 1 or 2 bars, but it has gone as high as 5 bars a couple of times. I don't understand why it should bounce around like that in one location. Very frustrating!

I have an AT&T blackberry 8800 series as well as iphone 3g on AT&T. iphone reception is the problem. Walk into buildings in my area, and the blackberry can still call and surf the web. iPhone has no service. This reception used to plague my blackberry until one of the firmware updates last year.

I have a tower 1.7 miles directly north of my house. My signal strength could be 5 or 0. It completely sucks to pay for an iPhone with the functionality of an iPod Touch. What the heck is wrong with Apple. This is not new technology. Fix our fricking phones.

I have both a Blackberry 8800 (for work) and an iPhone 3G (AT&T) and the iPhone 3G is worthless. 95% of the time when I have 1-2 bars on my Blackberry, I have ZERO signal on my iPhone 3G (and can't even use it). Driving I get dropped calls with the iPhone 3G, and the signal strength is terrible with the iPhone. I've been arguing with AT&T and Apple, but neither does anything about it, and I'm seriously considering switching back to T-Mobile, or Verizon and getting maybe an unlocked Bold or Storm. Something that I can at least use, and get decent reception with. Don't get me wrong, the iPhone looks cool, but I want something that does more than look cool.

I wish someone would begin a class-action lawsuit against Apple for not having a "user replaceable" battery on their iPhone/iPhone3G, and also for the terrible reception on the iPhone 3G, and also for locking the phone (and not allowing users to use a piece of hardware they purchased on ANY network they choose). If you purchase the hardware, you OWN the hardware. It's YOUR hardware, and Apple should have no right to turn around and lock a phone that you have paid for and that you OWN and you should be able to use a phone that you have purchased on any network you choose. I wish the lawyers were listening! Get us our money back for these garbage phones, and get us out of these wretched AT&T Service contracts. We should be able to purchase a phone and use it on any network we choose, including T-Mobile, or Verizon. AT&T engages in unfair business practices and tries to create a monopoly and it's bad for consumers. Consumers always lose when stuff like this happens.

I had alot of problems with my first two iphones. Safari crashing,dropped calls, had to turn 3g off just to make calls. Im on my 3rd Iphone this one is alot better. My safari doesnt crash, and i get a dropped call once and a while, and i can my calls on 3g how wonderful. Its not att service its the phone. I had the razor 2 v9 and never had dropped calls. If you really want to return your iphone, if you push the issue you can past the 30 days for them selling defective items, dont take no for an answer.

If At&T has such a bad reception why would Apple have a contract with AT&T? If it's that bad I will not leave Verizon after all. Do you AT&T users at any time need to take a battery off you phone for troubleshot? Why am I asking. For Verizon phones it works 99%. I wish Verizon Had iPhone. But look why Vrizon can't use it: 1. for troubleshot you need to remove battery, 2. no insurance from Apple, 3. iPhone is taken back to Apple store for repair, 4. Apple doesn't lend you a phone meanwhile, and the last 5. Support is done thru Apple costumer service and not Verizon's. Can you make iPhone work with Verizon? Would you switch from Verizon to T-Mobile if it had iPhone? Does iPhone work with T-Mobil?

my reception has either 0 or 1 bars or 5 bars in the exact same spot, 3g can be going full blast and all of a sudden just.. well.. GONE! it comes and goes. apple get some help from blackberry and fix our f-u-c-@-ing phones now
